HKIS Integrated Mathematics 1 (IM1) is the foundational course in a three-year high school sequence designed for Grade 9 students. Aligned with the High School Common Core State Standards for the Integrated Pathway, this course offers a cohesive study of key mathematical disciplines. Throughout the year, students explore interconnected topics in Algebra, Functions, Geometry, and Statistics, building both conceptual understanding and practical problem-solving skills.
1. Construction and Rigid Transformations
This module integrates geometric principles with algebraic reasoning. Students explore rigid transformations, establish triangle congruence criteria (SSS, SAS, ASA), and perform formal geometric constructions. A focus on coordinate geometry allows students to apply algebraic methods directly to geometric shapes.
3. One Variable Statistics
4. Linear Equations & Systems
5. Coordinate Geometry
